To make minor repairs around your house, you will need various tools. These tools should be inside your tool box or stored in the garage so that in case you need them you will know where to find them. Here are some of the tools you should have. 1. Hammers. You will never know when you will have to do a little pounding to drive a nail into wood to secure a frame or to serve as a hanger for paintings. Although you may have a nail gun, having a good hammer on hand can be an advantage. In addition, hammers are a lot safer as compared to nail guns because the hammer requires your own strength for it to do its job. 2. Wire cutters. Are you still using your precious scissors to cut electrical wires and cords just to end up having a very dull pair of scissors? Then, it is about time for you to get yourself your very own wire cutter. This tool is especially designed to cut wires and it means any type of wire. You can use this tool when you are doing some electrical jobs or fixing the telephone line and even when you are doing some arts and crafts. 3. Pencils. This may not be made of stainless steel but a pencil can be considered a tool. Can you imagine measuring something you have to cut and you end up not knowing where to cut it because you failed to mark the area? Well, that is the pencil's role, to mark an area. The pencil and the measuring tape, usually the metal one, go hand in hand. 4. Screwdrivers. Most people would recommend only two types of screwdrivers and that's a flat head screw driver and a Phillips screw driver both should be of medium size. Screwdrivers are used to tighten and drive screws. The screw has to match the grooves on the head of the screw in order for it to work. If you use the wrong type of screwdriver on a screw, then you will end up unable to tighten or drive it through. 5. Pliers. You use pliers in various ways. You use it to take out screws and nails. You use it to bend wires. You use pliers to cut wires and you use it to hold something. Having one pair of pliers may not be enough so home experts would recommend that you store pliers in different sizes as well as types. It doesn't have to be a lot, 3 or 4 may be enough. 6. Tape Measure. Of course, in during your repair projects there will come a time when you will have to measure and cut something. To be able to do that accurately you will need a tape measure. A 25-foot and 12-foot measuring tape in your tool kit is already more than enough. A tool kit will surely come in handy when you have to do some minor repairs around the house. For a tool kit to be very useful, it must contain all the essential tools you might or will need. |
