Let's face it; one of the most disorganized places in the house is the kitchen. Of course, this all depends on who is actually using the kitchen. But to make your kitchen friendly so that it's not just you who knows exactly where everything is, you must find ways to organize it better. This will make it easier for your family members or even your friends to make their way around the kitchen easier because they will know exactly where everything is when you ask for it. This is especially useful when you are preparing a big dish and you need an extra hand in the kitchen to help you out. Here are some ways that you can do to keep your kitchen organized. • Organize your cabinets – Your kitchen cabinets should be clean and these should be organized inside. It cannot be stressed enough. Do you remember losing track of that ice-cream scoop just because you forgot where you placed it the last time you used it? You can avoid this by making sure that things are in the cabinets where these are supposed to be in. Keep all plates and bowls in one area, pots and pans in another, etc. This is a surefire way to make sure that you know exactly where to get the kitchen knife the next time you need it. • Label – Once you are done organizing your cabinets, you can reinforce this organization by labeling the cabinets. You can label all the drawers as well, according to the things that are found inside them. This is a great way to make sure that you don't open the wrong drawer when you are looking for something as small as a jam knife. You will never again waste time just looking for something when you are supposed to be cooking. • Arrange your pantry – All your dry goods, condiments and spices can't be kept in the same place as all your plates, pots and pans. This is what the pantry space is for. And because you have a lot of different ingredients and items for your cooking, you will definitely need to arrange the way these things are arranged in your pantry. Make sure that you can see everything and that there are no ingredients that are hiding behind other items in your pantry. Think of it as a little store where you can see everything and pick out what you need from the shelf once you easily spot it. • Spices – Of all the things in your kitchen, you have to admit that you probably have the most number when it comes to the different spices that you have bought for your food. Can't find the paprika? Need to crush a little more pepper? Then make sure that these things are found in one space that is familiar to you. This is when a spice rack can be very helpful. You can make your own rack or buy one at the store. Whatever way you acquire one, just make sure that you do so that you can keep all your spices in one space that is easy to find in a crowded kitchen or pantry. |
